Mountain of JoyLive at the Last Concert CafeMountain of Joy (MOJO for short) played in Houston over a period of several years in the 1990's and specialized in extended jams of groove-based music which they billed as "Hypnodelic Blues-Rock". Influences included live-jamming bands such as The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead, and Mountain of Joy could usually be found playing at the Deadhead- hangout/Mexican Restaurant called The Last Concert Cafe in Downtown Houston. The following selections are taken from a live recording at that venue and represent a fair slice of early Mountain of Joy work. The lineup changed about half a year later, but Mountain of Joy continued to improve , eventually coming out with a studio demo tape. Lineup: Mike Stevens - vocals, congas, percussion, and the occasional kazoo solo Brad Parent - guitar, harmony vocals Alexander Marchand - guitar, harmony vocals Randy Woodard - drums Jeff Miller - bass
