Dr. Trash and the FunkmonstersLive in Dallas, 1983Recorded by radio station technicians mixing the sound at their Cinco de Mayo festival in a park in Dallas. The Funkmonsters performed on a flatbed trailer, many using unfamiliar instruments provided by festival organizers. This may account for the quality of the keyboard and guitar sounds, which were a bit unusual for the Funkmonsters. The sound quality improves a lot after the first rendition of "Subway" and the mix becomes more "live". I have just remastered all of these recordings as stereo rather than mono as of March 15, 2004, so there has been a dramatic improvement in sound quality since the first of these tunes were added to the website. They are considerably more enjoyable to listen to now. Note: Access to the streaming media works best if you have a high-speed internet connection. If no high-speed connection is available, you may right-click on the link to the selection, select "save target as", and save the file to your computer. You should then be able to play it with no interruption.
